A fun night at Noble Ale Works…

30 01 2011

So Saturday night Khaos, Brandon, friends Claudia, Sam, Kristy and I all headed up the road to Anaheim to visit Noble Ale Works for the release of their newest beer Nobility, a casked, double IPA. While I wasn’t drinking, I did steal a few sips here and there and even shared a flight with Khaos for “research.”

I’ll start off with the Nobility since it was the reason why we were there. They took an already hoppy IPA and ramped it up to crazy levels! The smell is unbelievable and adequately prepares you for the taste of the added hops. With a hint of citrus coming through, Nobility is a very tasty IPA (and I don’t like IPAs). A true test…

9 01 2011

…of my will power is happening right now as I’m sitting at Stone Brewery with Khaos, Brandon and his little sister.
I’m sure it sounds weird that a guy who is limiting himself to one beer a week is sitting at a brewery but I’ve never done the tour!
And don’t tell anyone, but I am stealing sips of Khaos’ OAKED Arrogant Bastard (on tap, couldn’t resist) and Brandon’s Rogue Old Crustacean barleywine (which I need to buy a bottle of because it is GOOD!)
So, while this is a challenge, I do think it will be a way to prove to myself that I really can do this!
